Reeza Hendricks, a right-handed batsman, began his cricketing journey with Griqualand West.
His talent was quickly recognized, and he made his first-class debut on November 22, 2006, in a match for Griqualand West against Namibia. He scored 95 runs in the very first innings of his debut match and got our on four in the second innings.
A few days later, he played his first List-A match on November 25, 2006, against the Namibia domestic team. Over the years, he has played numerous List A matches, scoring a substantial number of runs.
After his initial years with Griqualand West, Reeza moved on to play for several other clubs, including Knights, Eagles, and the Lions. His consistent and impressive performances helped him rise through the South African domestic ranks.
Subsequently, Reeza’s T20 debut came later, on January 25, 2009, when he played for the Eagles against the Lions. He couldn’t get to bat in his debut T20 match though. Reeza quickly established himself as a destructive T20 opener.
In November 2017, Reeza achieved a significant milestone by scoring his first century in a Twenty20 match. He made 102 not out for Lions against Dolphins in the 2017–18 Ram Slam T20 Challenge. Reeza Hendrick’s journey in international cricket began with his T20I debut against Australia on November 5, 2014. It was also the T20I debut of his fellow players, Kagiso Rabada and Rilee Rossouw.
It wasn’t a good day for him as he got out on zero in the match. But, he made a good come back by scoring 49 runs in the third T20 match of the same series.
A few years later, Reeza made his One-Day International (ODI) debut against Sri Lanka on August 5, 2018.
