Jake Fraser-McGurk Cricket Career:

Jake’s cricketing journey began at a young age. He started playing junior cricket at the age of 9 at Boroondara Cricket Club. His talent was evident even then, and he quickly rose through the ranks.

In 2019, at the age of 17, Jake Fraser-McGurk made his first-class debut for Victoria under Peter Handscomb, against Queensland, in the Marsh Sheffield Shield season. He made an instant impression, scoring a half-century (51) in the first innings of his debut match.


After that, he made his List A debut on November 17, 2019, representing Victoria in the Marsh One-Day Cup. And, he continued his impressive start by scoring a fifty (54 off 49) in this format as well.

Jake’s talent was recognized at the national level when he was named in Australia’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He even scored a brilliant fifty (84 off 97 balls) in Australia’s first match against West Indies.

However, an unfortunate incident cut short his participation in the tournament.


Then, on December 12, 2020, McGurk made his T20 debut for Melbourne Renegades, against Perth Scorchers, in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Jake’s cricketing journey took a historic turn in 2023. On October 8, 2023, he scored the fastest List-A hundred off just 29 balls, surpassing the previous record of 31 balls by former South African batter, AB De Villiers. This remarkable achievement underlines his supreme talent and potential for the senior National team.
