Australian footballer, Garang Kuol, was born on September 15, 2004, in Cairo, Egypt. His life journey began in a refugee camp in Egypt.
His father, Mawien Kuol, worked as a dry cleaner, and his mother, Antonietta Kuol, was also a dry cleaner and worked at a fruit factory. They both are from South Sudan.
Garang has six brothers: Kuol Kuol, Alou Kuol, Didi Kuol, Teng Kuol, Kurry Kuol, and Kuolly Kuol. Kuol is the eldest, and Kuolly is the youngest among the seven brothers.
Alou and Teng are also professional footballers. Alou plays for the Central Coast Mariners, and Teng plays for Western Sydney Wanderers II.

Garang’s Football Career:
Garang Kuol’s early football career was shaped by his passion for the sport and the influence of his brothers. He started playing football as a junior, initially joining Shepparton Soccer Club.
After spending almost 5 years with the semi-professional side, Goulburn Valley Suns, he trained in the youth ranks. His talent and hard work led to his promotion to the senior side when he was only 15 years old.
Garang and Alou took the time to immerse themselves in the football culture of their new home. This immersion in the sport further fueled Garang’s passion for football and his ambition to excel in it.
In January 2021, Garang signed with the Central Coast Mariners Academy, joining alongside his brother Alou. Subsequently, at the age of 16, he got his first start for the senior NPL squad on 14 March, against Mounties Wanderers after their main starters were out with the A-League Men squad.
He finished his first season with 6 league appearances for the NPL senior side. Then, Kuol reunited with his brother, Teng Kuol, at the start of December, after Teng signed with the Mariners following a brief stint at Melbourne Victory Youth. In the same period, he earned his first call-up to the A-League squad for their FFA Cup clash against Wollongong Wolves.
After that, his career took a significant leap forward when he was chosen for the Socceroos coach Graham Arnold’s squad for the final two friendlies before the team met up overseas for the Qatar World Cup.
Later, Garang Kuol become the youngest Socceroo ever to appear at a World Cup when he came on as a substitute against France in the opening match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Garang’s career trajectory took an exciting turn when he signed with Newcastle United in 2023. His journey continued with a loan to Heart of Midlothian, where he made 8 appearances and scored 1 goal. Later, he was loaned to Eredivisie club Volendam for 2023/24 season.
